Today's schools are increasingly impacted, structured and managed according to laws and
regulations. In this course, students learn the basis of legal terminology as related to cases and case law.
Topics covered include regulation of public and private schools, church-state issues, rights of students and
teachers, contracts, ADA accommodations and safety in the educational environment. Students also learn how
politics influence the education system at the national and state level.
