This course introduces the factors that influence the production of diagnostic radiographic images using digital radiographic equipment. Emphasis is placed on the principles and techniques required to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Topics include image quality concepts such as image receptor exposure, grayscale, spatial resolution, distortion, grid use, image receptors and holders, processing considerations, image acquisition and analysis, image artifacts, and guidelines for selecting exposure factors within digital imaging systems. Laboratory experiences reinforce theoretical principles through hands-on application, image evaluation, and quality control practices.
